Perfect 10 Gallon Kids Tank

- No need for testing: consistent water changes + Seachem Prime/ Stability handle it all.
- 10-gallon kit with lid, heater, filter, and light
- 1 Betta (halfmoon, veiltail, or crowntail)
- Live plants: Java fern, anubias, hornwort (no trimming needed)
- Gravel or sand substrate (no sharp edges)
- Seachem Prime (dechlorinator)
- Seachem Stability (beneficial bacteria)
- Fish food: Betta pellets (2–3 per day)
- Small gravel siphon and bucket
- Rinse substrate and decor (no soap!)
- Add substrate, decor, and plants
- Fill slowly with tap water — use Seachem Prime per instructions
- Plug in heater and filter (keep flow gentle for Betta)
- Dose with Seachem Stability for 7 days
- Wait 5–7 days before adding fish
- Every Saturday or Sunday:
- Change 30–40% of the water with dechlorinated tap water (Prime)
- Use siphon to clean bottom (avoid disturbing plants)
- Top off water as needed during week (dechlorinate)
- Feed Betta once per day (2–3 pellets)
- Tip: Skipping a feeding day weekly is fine — helps prevent bloating.
- Use a timer for the light (8 hrs/day)
- Don’t overfeed — bettas are small!
- Never wash filter media with tap water — rinse in tank water only
- Tell kids: “It’s like taking care of a plant with fins”
